Earl Thomas, Absent From Fleet 62 Xmas Party, Now Fleet Captain
Whew! Another successful Christmas has come and gone.  We had plenty of cheer (and plenty of food!) this year with friends and family, and we hope you all enjoyed the same.  Keeping with tradition, Fleet 62 held its Christmas Party at the Navarra’s on Sunday, December 20th.  Rooms were overflowing with Lido, and ex-Lido folks catching up with each other and enjoying a fantastic potluck.

As Maria and I remarked to each other: “the food never disappoints at our fleet potlucks!”  There were so many people at the party, I lost track of everyone there, so I apologize in advance if I’m forgetting someone, but off the top of my head I can recall seeing the Gordon’s, the Wolff’s, the Lee’s, Earl Thomas, Bruce Prickett, Josh and Brea, the Bradley’s, the Moser’s, the Vance’s, Roy Jordan, Chuck St. Denis… okay now my memory is beginning to fail…
Anyway, the point is we all had a great time! Jack led a round of Christmas carols with his accordion and there were even rumors that Maria was dancing!
We even had a brief fleet meeting, our one requirement of the year to elect officers.  I’m happy to announce that Earl Thomas has volunteered to be Fleet Captain for next year and we unanimously voted him in.  Jack Navarra graciously accepted to continue on as Secretary and Social Chair.  Let’s all give a huge thanks to Earl and Jack for volunteering to keep this fleet up and running!  Meanwhile, I’m not going away!  I’ll continue on as District Secretary and help out Earl where I can.  This upcoming year will be particularly busy for myself, but I’ll try to make it out to as many Lido races and events as possible.
Here’s to a great 2016! The Lido Fleet 62 continues to grow as we gain more Lido’s in the Bay Area.  Let’s keep up the attendance at our events and welcome new Lido’s to our family!  The next Fleet 62 event will be the Crew Appreciation Brunch some time around February.  Stay tuned to the Fleet 62 email list for details as they come.
