Todd and Barbara Craig figure out the fickle winds of Folsom Lake to win the 2015 Camelia Cup.

The weekend of April 18 and 19th was the 49th annual Camillia Cup Regatta at Folsom Lake. Turn-out was excellent: 61 boats registered and we saw everything from a J/70 to Hobie Cats, and even a Moth! There were large fleets of Santana 20’s and Day Sailers, and of course, a fleet of 5 Lidos. Maria and I (Lido 3547) were joined by Earl Thomas and Kent Fielden (4562) representing Fleet 62 and the classic Lido’s. From Fleet 8, Pat Sayer-Handley (6149) teamed up to skipper with crew Bruce Montgomery (546). Representing the Folsom Lake Yacht Club, Mel Morrison and Dave LaBrie (6363) sailed a gorgeous new red Lido and Todd and Barbara Craig (6367) sailed an even more stunning new neon green Lido. Mel Morrison also is a sponsor of the regatta. His shop, Inland Sailing Company, provided first prize jackets and also sells Lido’s and parts! Unfortunately, both days had very light winds… just enough to get us to the start line, and just barely enough for windward/leeward courses to eek in under the 2 hr course time limit.
